Villa reject initial downing bid-Dalglish with other options
Aston Villa have rejected an initial bid of 15 million pounds made by Liverpool for Stewart Downing. With 2 years left in Stewart's contract, Villa have put a 20 million pound price tag on him. With Downing's   heart completely  set on a move to Merseyside, and with his refusal to sign a new contract with Villa, it seems almost inevitable that a move to Liverpool is on the card for the 26 year old highly rated England International. Though the new Villa manager Alex Mcleish is desperate to make Downing stay after the club recently lost Ashley Young to Manchester United for 16 million pounds . As far as Liverpool are concerned,  selling French striker David N'gog might be considered as a make weight deal to sign Downing whereas King Kenny is also looking for other options which include Valencia's highly rated winger Juan Mata, who is rated as the best Spain U21 player today.

Arsenal fail to make Alvarez deal-Furious Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems frustrated over the way things are going  this summer's transfer window. The bad news for him and for the club's fans is that they are in danger of losing two of their most highly rated players in Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. Fabregas has been a long term target for European Champions Barcelona , whereas Nasri is thought to be leaving for one of their Manchester rivals, either United or City. With this situation on the trot Wenger is desperately looking before hand for suitable replacements for Fabregas and Nasri.  One of them is Ricky Alvarez who plays in Velez Sarsfield . But more frustration for Wenger because it has been confirmed that a deal has been struck which is seeing Alvarez move to the San Siro for Inter.

Senna reject's Swansea deal
Villareal star and Spain Veteran Marcos Senna has rejected a move to the newly promoted Premier League side Swansea City. The former Spanish International has extended his contract at the El Madrigal it contract expired at the end of the season. The new contract will keep the 34 year old at the club for another year.

Casillas remain's Real captain
World Cup winner Iker Casillas in a press conference after having talks with Mourinho said that after their Asia Tour he will keep the captaincy armband. Casillas declared that his boss feels that it is completely unnecassary to change the team's Skipper at the moment.

Trotters look to keep Davies and Jaaskelainen
Bolton are hoping to sign new contracts with players Kevin Davies and Jussi Jaaskelainen. With little hope of defender Gary Cahill staying, manager Owen Coyle feels that he needs to keep the two of his most experienced players at the club (Kevin and Jussi) so that they can help the new signings flourish. Bolton are also looking to permanently sign England U21 star Dany Sturridge from Chelsea with the relations between the new Chelsea boss and Owen Coyle looking good.

Toon to spend all the Carroll money
Sorrow and despair surrounded St. James Park when star striker Andy Carroll became the most valuable British player in history after completing a move to Anfield for a record fee of 35 million pounds from Newcastle United. The fans now seem to have been consoled by manager Alen Pardew's promise of investing all the money in bringing in new players. Newcastle have already signed Demba Ba and Sylvan Marveaux on free transfer deals and have brought in Lens player Mehdi Abeid for 4.5 million pounds.

AVB with his own way of motivating players
Chelsea's new manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that Chelsea's biggest rivals in the coming season would again be Manchester United. The 33 year old footballing genius says that the Chelsea players should watch Manchester United's Premier League videos and work on them. AVB believes that doing so would help players develop a complete insight of the game at Old Trafford and will give them confidence and mental practice before hand. The former Porto Boss says that it is not necassary that he applies his Porto tactics to the team at Stamford Bridge and wants to get the best out of his players in any way possible.

Clichy to work hard
After having completed his move from The Emirates to Manchester City, the Eastlands' new boy and France International Gael Clichy believes he will have to work very hard for first team football. The former Arsenal left back seems not at all wrong due to the fact that Alexander Kolarov, Pablo Zabaleta and Joleon Lescott can all play in the left back role and are highly rated at the Eastlands.
